The biggest waste of time…no, not televangelism. No, not Anna Nicole Smith.
It’s worrying about what others think about you.
Sure, it is foolhardy to ignore the advice and wisdom that those who genuinely care about you have about you and your well-being but if words are coming from feelings of shame, guilt, fear or hate, you can’t be concerned with them. So many people have no life but to destroy or dampen the quality of others’ lives. This is what is known, in urban parlance, as a “hater” or in biblical terms as a covetous person.
People should be (1) encouraged to develop the work ethic and desire to shoot for the moon and (2) have the opportunities to do so. This is why I feel that both parties just don’t get it. The majority of Democrats see failure as the lack of (2) caused by the Republicans and the Republicans see failure as the lack of (1) caused by the Democrats. I think it’s (1) and (2) caused by both parties. We need a third option people…or we need to step out of that framework. We need to look at each other as people, as Jesus would look at every one of us. Jesus feels we all have worth. He didn’t say people are of worth because they were Christian. They were of worth because they are God’s creation. WE ALL HAVE WORTH!. Let’s start using it…and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
